Another warm sunny day greeted players and supporters for Westbury’s Presentation day on the 12th of June.
For Thunder this began with a mini football competition against Bulls, Falcons and Lightning.
Thunder started well enough going in two goals up against Bulls at half time, but seemed to think it was all over and let Bulls come back into the match to just run out winners.
Next match was against Falcons, a much better team than Bulls who put Thunder (already suffering from injuries and the heat) through the ringer. Another close match, but honours to Falcons.
By our last match we had to borrow some players from Lightning to see us through. Our rag bag team gave Lightning a serious fright with a big thanks going to Jamie and Brad for helping us out. Honours to Lightning this time round.
All the opposition managers said they thought Thunder were a very good team
IF THEY COULD JUST STOP ARGUING AMONGST THEMSELVES !!
Then Onto the Days Main Event Presentation Time
This year was the most difficult one we have ever had with regards to awards as it was close in all categories'. A great tribute to how hard everybody has worked this year.
The presentation started off with the individual award given to all players. This is presented by the club in recognition of playing for Westbury as a team member.
A fantastic trophy any player would be proud to have in their collection !!
Then down to the major trophies
Player of the Season
Chosen by Neil, Whitey and Martyn.
This reflects not only play on the field, but overall attitude during matches and training. In the end it was between Jake, Robbo and Morgan, with Jake just winning by a single vote.
Player of the Season Jake Sawdon
Well done to Jake on a great achievement.

Goal of the Season
Chosen by Neil and Martyn
A very difficult choice with many contenders from a team with over 100 goals to its credit. In the end it was between Robbo, Morgan and Jake with Robbo winning with his outstanding chipped goal against Walshaw Sports.
Goal of the Season Jack Robinson
Well done to Robbo more of the same next year.
……………………………….
Most Improved Player
Chosen by Neil and Martyn
Again a very difficult choice, but it was decided that Stevo should receive this years award after making outstanding progress in his first league season. Congratulations to Will and Matty for running Stevo very close.
Most Improved Player Jack Stephenson
Well done Stevo and well deserved.

Players Player
Chosen by Team Members
A very prestigious trophy as it is chosen by members of the team only. Close runners up by a single vote Will and Saul. Well done to Mark on an outstanding season and a deserved accolade from his team mates.
Players Player Mark Fenton
Well done Mark on a great season.

Well done to everybody and thanks to all the supporters who turned up to support the team.
Now for a break to watch the world Cup, judging by below, I think they need it !!
